The LeapPad Explorer tablet from Leapfrog has got to be one of the most advanced and fun educational consoles or tablets that we have seen so far!

If you have ever had problems with your little ones wanting to play on your ipad then help is at hand thanks to Leapfrogs new children’s tablet…the LeapPad!  The LeapPad is a learning and educational tablet that mirrors that adult ipad.

With access to over 100 apps and growing the LeapPad Explorer covers every educational subject that you could ever need, from Maths to Science, Reading to Languages the LeapPad can do it all.

With a built-in camera and video recorder this tablet allows you to take HD pictures and video which can then be easily edited so your children can create the most amazing images and films.  What we also love about this, is that young children will find it so easy to use thanks to the addition of voice guided instructions.  The built-in camera allows your kids to become the stars of their own stories and in addition apps like the Story Studio and Art Studio, which are both free,  allow you to modify the pictures taken and drop them into storybooks if they want to, there really is so much to do with this amazing toy.  You also get a whopping 2gb of free storage space to hold all your images and videos so space is never an issue and if you want to you can upload your kids creations to sites like Facebook and Youtube very easily so all your friends and family can see.

Something else I love about this device is just how child friendly it really is, it comes with the guidence that it is suitable for kids from 4 years and up to around 9 or 10 and I would have to agree with this without doubt.

The design and build on the Leapfrog LeapPad Explorer is fantastic and it feels really sturdy and can with hold a few knocks and bumps and the 5inch screen is really bright and colourful and the touch screen gives enough where it isn’t too sensitive that young children would have trouble using it.

All in all I think Leapfrog have done an incredible job with this tablet, infact many adults are going to be playing with this more than the kids!  It’s packed full of features, it updates itself and grows with your childs ability so that they never get bored and it constantly pushes them to the next level, it’s full of amazing apps wich you can buy or download for free and it’s easy and sturdy enough for the younger children, so it’s not going to break if it’s dropped.

Just bought my son a Leap Pad explorer and he loves it. My only issue is the price of some of the apps…a little steep really!

I think we will see a reduction in prices towards the new year as more and more apps get released. The feedback from parents on the Leappad Explorer is going through the roof and I think this is being seen in the fact that a large proportion of the toy retailers are already out-of-stock!

Word of warning to parents, if you are thinking about getting the leappad make sure you try and pick it up in the next main shipments which are due around the start of November, as demand is going to out strip supply for this one!
