 So the 2011 Dream Toys have just been released and it looks like there is something for everyone in the list.  As usual their are not many surprises in the list although it must have been hard to choose between the leappad Explorer and the Vtech Innotab.  Great to see the Doogie Doo game being given the steaming prize!

Air Hogs Sharpshooter – Cheapest prices

Every year we get excited to see what new Air Hogs toy is going to be released, this year Air Hogs have 2 major new lines…the Air Hogs Hyper Actives Stunt and the Air Hogs Sharp Shooter which is what we are going to take a look at.

This is unlike anything you have seen, the Air Hogs Sharp Shooter is not just a really cool remote control helicopter, but it is also missile firing remote control helicopter!

So let’s take a closer look at Air Hogs latest toy!

The Air Hogs Sharpshooter is a 2 channel remote control helicopter that comes with 6 red firing missiles, you get a 2 channel remote control that also acts as the battery charger.

The Sharp Shooter can be loaded with 2 missiles at anyone time, the set up of this toy is very easy and children will find it really easy to control.  The Helicopter isn’t that fast which does make it easy for younger children to control.  The actual helicopter itself looks really cool, infact it does remind me of Air Wolf the classic eighties TV series which many parents will remember.

This is a very stable helicopter that kids will love flying and that’s even before we get to the missile firing part which really does stand this toy out from the crowd, I cannot tell you how much fun we have had playing with this toy.

The only slight word of warning is that it is very easy to lose your missiles, so make sure you keep your eyes open as to where you are shooting.  On average you get around 10 minutes flight time before needing to recharge your batteries, the recharge takes around 20-30 minutes.

To conclude…this RC helicopter is a lot of fun to fly and play with, kids are going to love the missiles, it’s easy to use and our 4 year old seemed to be able to control this without many problems.  This really will make a great Christmas present no matter how old you are!

Lego Star Wars Anakins and Sebulbas Podracers – Cheapest Prices

Lego Star Wars Anakins and Sebulbas Podracers

New for 2011 the Lego Star Wars Anakins and Sebulbas Podracers really is fantastic!  Based on the famous scenes from Star Wars Ep1 The Phantom Menace.

You might have already seen the Lego advert for this set and know how good it is, if not we have supplied it below.

The Lego Anakins and Sebulbas Podracers set or Lego 7962 allows you to recreate the amazing podrace on Tatooine between Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba and now you can influence the outcome.

The Lego Star Wars Anakin amd Sebulbas podracers set features 810 lego pieces and is suitable for ages 9+, it also comes with  5 minifigures which are a young Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba, Watto, Wald and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Lego Anakins and Sebulbas Podracers are part of the second wave of Lego Star Wars 2011 sets which also include:

  • Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon
  • Lego Star Wars Ewok Attack
  • Lego Star Wars Geonosian Starfighter
  • Lego Star Wars Naboo Starfighter
  • Lego Star Wars Hoth Echo Base

The lego 7962 set comes packed with some great features, the booklet comes with around 80 pages and it’s an ok build, some of it can be a bit tricky for younger children.  The one thing I would say about the Lego Anakin’s and Sebulba’s Podracers set is just how good this set looks…it really does stand out compared to the other lego sets on the market.

Looking at the minifigures supplied, the Anakin minifigure is a great addition and comes with a double-sided head, one side shows Anakin with googles, this minifigure also comes with a helmet.  Next we come to two of the rarest minifigures that of Sebulba and Watto, Sebulba is in full colour in this set and Watto is a very rare figure which commands a high resale value and there is also a Lego minifigure exclusive Wald.

Each of the podracers are set up on stands which help the podracers to stand up and they are fitted together with clear transparent bricks.  The detail on the pod racers is fantastic,  Sebulba’s Podracer really is amazing and Lego have done a fantastic job on this build.
